Happy Easter! He is Risen Indeed!

Life has been crazier than usual around here lately. 

But Judah remains very cute and continues to get big and learn many new things.

Hopefully this month we will post an update...in the meantime, here is a picture of our family yesterday

Houston Zoo

Continuing the post catch-up, early in December we were able to take a family trip to the Houston Zoo.

There are two young elephants at the zoo, who enjoy playing.  We got to see them play together in the water and with their yellow toy made of fire hoses.  Grandma would have loved it!

Merry Christmas

Judah most enjoyed the ribbons and bows.  He was interested in opening the first couple presents, after that he was very content to play with what he received and wasn't very interested in opening any more :)

12 Months!

 "Oh no, this again?!?" as he sinks down in misery...

I had actually delayed this photo shoot as I wanted to have him do his official 1 year photo shoot with the photographer first...but even though a week had passed, he was still not thrilled to see a camera

That a year has passed is unbelievable! I'm still trying to wrap my mind around having a one year old!   I am sad to see the baby days go...though he is growing into a little boy for sure. 

We are admittedly biased, but he is super cute and a lot of fun!

1 Year Check-up Stats: 21 lbs 0.5 oz, 30 inches

He also had his first dentist visit this month, which after a few initial moments of uncertainty, he did very well with and has 8 beautiful teeth

 

The big news this month is independent WALKING...all over the place!  A few days after his big 1st Birthday, he finally became brave enough to let go and now he's taken off. 

The dogs are still adjusting to this transition.

His favorite toy this month is a ball...the dogs have lots of differents balls, all of which Judah enjoys...now the dogs are suddenly interested in them because Judah is intersted in them :)
He also received his first real soccer ball (happy daddy) and fun trucks.

Some of Judah's other favorite activities include "helping" in the fridge, pantry, and dishwasher, which usually involves some climbing!  And stirring in his pot, while mommy and daddy cook. 

 Another fun activity this month has been outings to the park

 

 

Happy 1st Birthday Judah!

 I cannot believe it's already been a year!  We love you more than it seems possible!

You fill our lives with incredible joy and we look forward, God willing, to many more years with you!

11 Months

Judah was less than thrilled again to sit and take pictures, we had to do two sessions again, along with distraction of the favorite stuffed puppy and books, to try and capture him both sitting and smiling :)

 

"Are you really making me do this AGAIN mom?"

This month Judah:
-likes to spend a good portion of the days walking holding onto one hand...though still not quite brave enough to let go, we are getting close to walking and he has taken about 2 independent steps at a time
-learned to go down a full flight of stairs going backwards
-he continues to be a climber
-enjoys putting objects into and out of a container, such as blocks and bath dinosaurs, inside boxes and cups
-"helps" brush his teeth and his hair
-experimenting more with mimicking sounds and definitely jabbers to himself when he wakes up or is trying to go to sleep
-has resumed liking to be rocked and "singing" along as he falls asleep
-is starting to say "dada" more specifically and finally has said "mama" a few times; other new words this month include: ball, baaat (for bath), wawa (for water), and the hint of a consistent p word for puppy
-likes to be tickled and to ride around on daddy's shoulders

Time Flies...we are already getting ready to celebrate a first birthday!

10 Months

I know I say this every time, but I cannot believe how quickly time passes and how BIG Judah is!

He sure is becoming a lot of fun though!

Judah's milestones/activities at 10 Months:
-working on his balance, by letting go while standing
-learning to go back down stairs (can go down a few)
-walking around while holding hands
-playing with balls
-perfecting his pincer grasp and become very good at feeding himself
-is eating mostly all table foods, favorite foods include cheese, zucchini, and pasta with tomato sauce
-jabbering a lot
-giving kisses
-starting to say a few recognizable words and mimicking sounds in addition to "Up" and "Hi": "Achoo," "All done," "Night Night"
-continues to love books and likes his large flashcards with animals on them
-started to stand up independently, without using any support

 Judah's 1st Thanksgiving Meal, which apparently consisted primarily of rolls...

as I wasn't there to feed him :(
