Sea-Town

Erin and I spent the past 5 days in Seattle staying and Jonathan and Sarah's new place. They found an amazing rental where you can walk to most anything - and they have a huge backyard for grilling and/or bizarre alien rituals. Stella is the most amazing (almost) 2 yr old we've met. She talks in full sentences and has a silly sense of humor.... she knows artists by the sound of the music (and prefers female british pop singers) - and she really liked Erin. She kept wandering around asking where Erin was... what a cute girl.

Here's a picture of Stella looking cute.... she loves wearing hoods.... this is the only picture of our trip and I took it with my phone.... we brought a camera and for some reason never got around to snapping photos of the beautiful landscape.....

We were in town with some other folks from our church Kaleo for a pastoral training conference. On Saturday - we had lunch with Jonathan and Sarah - Jonathan and I walked down to the local half-price books and found some great deals, and Erin and I had dinner with Kyle and Christina Dittmer/Derbidge which was a lot of fun. We went to an Indian place - and we've never had Indian before. When Kyle and I lived with Ari and Schwarz right out of high school we lived in an apt complex called - El Caliente apts. Our neighbors cooked with curry very very often and our whole floor stunk.... it was traumatic. Kyle re-assured me that this experience would be different and it was... the food was really tasty.

On Sunday we went to church with the Hays' and we went to a Bible Study with them later that evening. The conference started on Monday and I ran into my roomie from when I lived in Seattle, Jason Brewer! That was a big surprise!

Anyway - we had a great time - the conference was really interesting - and Jonathan and I got to spend some time cruising Broadway whilst listening to Sir Mix-A-Lot's classic 'Posse on Broadway' which we topped off by hitting up Dick's.

Tomorrow is Erin's Birthday (26th) so she's looking forward to a study break - her big exam is on March 6th!

... and here's a picture of Kelsey sleeping on the couch - she loves pillows.

I can see the advertising now:

El Caliente apartments...the only complex suitable for me: El Conquistador! Such style! Such opulence! My little flower desires to visit me every night because of the luxury that is...El Caliente!

Sea town .. H-town ... It's like the Umbriaco & Hays families practically live in the very same cities ... (in loud, Russian-sounding Borat accent): "NYAAAAT!"

Conversation with Stella a few minutes ago:

Stella: "I love Erin."
Me: "You do?"
Stella: "I love Jake too. I love those friends."

:D
